Paris 2024: Freezy MacBones: “I did everything right in my fight.”

The Black Bombers want to take advantage of the opportunity at the current African Olympic Qualification Tournament for the 2024 Games in Paris.

Six of the 12 Ghanaian boxers who traveled to Dakar, Senegal, for the current boxing qualifiers, have been eliminated, but six more are still in the running to represent their country at the Games in 2019.

Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy McBones, was among those eliminated. On Saturday, September 9, he was defeated by Seydou Konate of Senegal in the middleweight division by a unanimous decision.

But the British fighter maintains that he ought to have won the contest.

“Professional and amateur boxing differ greatly from one another. In amateur boxing, you have to be quicker on your feet and toes. After the battle, Freezy stated that the crowd wanted to see more punches.

“If you observe how I boxed, you’ll notice that I was standing on my toes and elevating my head. I tried to work on all of them, but boxing is what it is. Either winning or losing is a possibility. We’re currently developing.

Freezy’s first loss came against Konate in the round of 16 preliminary rounds.
