Veteran Highlife musician Oheneba Kissi has advised young thriving musicians to quit extravagant living and put their monies to good use.
According to the ‘ABC of Love’ hitmaker, it is important that young successful musicians who are playing most of the big shows in town make good investments of their earning now.
There have been reports of some young successful artistes spending their monies on women and engaging in all sorts of lavish social lifestyles much to the worry of many older generation of musicians and other entertainment watchers.
But speaking to Moses Aluebasi on Ejura based Naagyei FM’s Entertainment show, Oheneba Kissi stated that since the future is unpredictable, it is important that these young successful musicians spend their monies wisely and save their monies for future eventualities.
“When you get money you put it to good use and not allow fame to get to your head. You need to make an investment so that in the future when things happen negatively unexpectedly, then you’ll not be found wanting and be a burden on others. Recently, I heard that a musician [Back Tye] has died. He was doing drugs and it ruined his life.”
“The young musicians must be humble and ensure that they make good songs, remain in business. I say so because if you one loses this music job it is sometimes very difficult to bounce back,” Oheneba Kissi added.
