Police in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality have enhanced security in the area with police patrols to combat crime especially highway armed robbery attacks.
Plain clothes police officers have also been deployed in the area to pick intelligence to prevent crimes.
Ejura-Sekyedumase in the Ashanti Region is known to have recorded several highway robbery attacks where armed robbers mount roadblocks and rob victims especially traders of their monies and other items.
The Ejura Police Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Kyei Sarpong told Host Henry Lord on Naagyei FM that the police have mapped out a comprehensive strategy to fight crime in the area, adding that there should be no cause for alarm as the police are on top of the situation.
“The Police Commander and Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) have met and rolled out a strategy to combat crime. You’ll observe that we’ve increased our presence on the road and for some time now we’ve not recorded any robbery incident. That notwithstanding we are not resting on our oars.”
ASP Emmanuel Kyei Sarpong urged the public to be security conscious, stop walking alone at night and also desist from boarding tricycles in the night.
