Use your time in jail to reform your lives – Ejura MP to inmates

The Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumase, Braimah Mohammed Bawa has advised inmates of the Ejura Nkwanta Prison to make good use of their time in jail to reform their lives.

According to him, it is important that the inmates turn on a new leaf to become responsible adults and help in the nation building exercise.

Hon. Bawa who sympathized with the inmates gave the advice when he paid a visit to the Ejura Nkwanta prison camp.

“Some of you are here on false accusations and unsubstantiated reasons but that is not the end of your lives. I know of many ex-convicts who are now doing well and have acquired skills from prison. Cooperate with the officers in charge. As MP and also a member of the Defence and Interior Committee in Parliament which the prison service directly falls under, I know most of your challenges,” hesaid.

The MP donated bags of rice and sugar to the prisoners as part of his social responsibility and also used the opportunity to wish the Muslims within Happy Ramadan.

The officer in charge, DSP Dickson Owusu Ameyaw thanked Hon Bawa for his kind gesture.

The inmates requested mattress, fan and other basic things to make their lives comfortable.
