VGMA: I’ll not be surprised if I don’t win Highlife song of the year – Dada Hafco

Highlife artiste, Dada Hafco says it will not come as a surprise to him if he fails to win an award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music  Awards.

Dada Hafco’s song ‘Ye Bewu Nti’ has been nominated in the Highlife Song of the Year category alongside other songs from other artistes.

His song will face stiff competitions from other popular songs like ‘Thunder’ by Kidi, ‘Wish Me Well’ by Kuami Eugene, ‘Betweener‘ by Kumi Guitar, ‘Woara’ by Kwesi Arthur. The rest are ‘CCTV’ by King Promise ft.Sarkodie & Mugeez, ‘Killing me softly’ by Adina ft. Kuami Eugene and ‘Level’ by Shatta Wale.

Speaking to host Moses Aluebasi on Naagyei FM‘s entertainment show, Dada Hafco expressed his excitement for the nomination but indicated that even if he fails to win the coveted award that will not discourage him from churning out quality songs.

“We are eight good musicians who have been nominated in the category and any of us is a potential winner so the public should vote. If I lose I wouldn’t be surprised, why should I? All the songs in that category are popular and obviously only one will win, so I can only hope that I win but if I don’t I soldier on.”
