Embattled Senior Police Officer, ACP, Dr. Benjamin Agordzo will today, fight his bail application at the High court following his trial with others in the alleged destabilization plot case.
The Kaneshie District Court on Friday, November 8, 2019, remanded him into police custody and is being held at the Ministries Police Station.
ACP Dr. Agordzo who has also been interdicted is facing a charge of Abetment to Commit Crime; namely, Treason Felony contrary to section 20(1) and 182 (b) of the Criminal and Other Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
ACP Dr. Benjamin Agordzo was picked up on Monday, November 4, 2019.
Nine persons, three civilians, and six military personnel are facing charges of treason felony and conspiracy to commit treason felony.
Key Suspects
The civilians who have already been charged are Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, a doctor and the alleged mastermind behind the coup plot; Donya Kafui, aka Ezor, a local weapon manufacturer (blacksmith) from Alavanyo, and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu, aka BB or ADC.
The military officers caught in the alleged coup plot included a senior officer, Col. Samuel Kojo Gameli; Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akapewu, Lance Corporal Seidu Abubakar and one WO II Esther Saan, aka Mama Gee, of the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS), and also a civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Forces, Gershon Akpa.
